Magical

Claudia_Rosa_magical holiday_2

Hello thanks for your visit. I hope you have had a wonderful weekend so far.

As we count down the days to Christmas I am able to show you some of the cards I have made for my friends. This card is a bit than my usual card size only 5.5 x 5.5.  The focal point image is a bit smaller than the standing girls and although I added a shaker to the front of my card I think the smaller size works well.

Magnolia Christmas Calendar Shutter No 8

Hello, welcome to Magnolia’s annual Christmas Calendar hosted by the Design Team.
Iam sure you are already inspired by all the wonderful creations the girls and Alberto came up with in the past few days. Weren’t they all stunning???!!

We crafters like the idea of something handmade to give to our neighbors, teachers, friends and family for Christmas, that’s why we love so much or card making hobby and we spent a fair amount of time and money pursuing the addiction awh.. I meant the hobby Smile. I also know that many of you like to bake, especially during this time of the year. I can only imagine what kinds of different cookies you all have made this year. Well, here is an idea to combine both… crafting and giving your baked goods the deserved, ready to be gifted wrapping. Claudia_Rosa_Cookie Tin_1

Altered tins are always great to give, they come in a variety of shapes, sizes and you can get them for free if you can reuse some from you’re your foods you have purchased already or even from your Prima flowers. I got this container at a while back Michaels for about 50 cents in the clearance section. It has an nice big size and I thought it was perfect to give some homemade cookies away or even add some gifts as stamps, dies or flowers ect. I usually purchase those kind of things throughout the year and store in my closet to alter as I need them.

When you alter a tin, it is nice to create a band around the tin first, mine is not very wide as you can see, next I build up the area with plastic snowflakes and a paper doily where I am going to be able to glue down my flowers and other embellishments without smudging the acetate or run into the problem that the band would not slide off the tin after I am finished. Keep in mind that if the tin is used for food, that you can wash it out after you altered it with your decorations. (speaking of ribbons added around your tin or papers)

Anyways… you know how this worksSmile leave me a comment on this posting and I will draw a winner for a “yummy” Magnolia candy. It will be shipped to your home with warm Christmas wishes by Magnolia Rubberstamps in the next days!

And if you like… have a look at cookie recipe I post at the bottom of this posting – it is my families favorite for this year.. I think I have made already 4 batches so far – more coming up this weekend.

I would like to thank you in the name of Magnolia for your business this year! Stay tuned for more exciting and cute releases in 2013, you will be able to find the entire line as papers and dies and and and that goes along with each new release at Sir Stampalot. Your destination for all your Magnolia needs!

Claudia_Rosa_Cookie Tin_2

Stamps: Tilda with cookie tray
Sentiment: Crafty Sentiment Designs – those circle ones are just sooo cute! Thank you Suzette!
Dies: Magnolia Tag, Magnolia swirl
Embellishments: plastic snowflakes, paper doily cookie tin – Paula Deen (Hobby Supply store), Gingham ribbon,

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, room temperature
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup pecans, toasted, coarsely ground
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Using electric mixer, beat butter in large bowl until light and fluffy. Add 1/2 cup powdered sugar and vanilla; beat until well blended. Beat in flour, then pecans. Divide dough in half; form each half into ball. Wrap separately in plastic; chill until cold, about 30 minutes.

Preheat oven to 350°F. Whisk remaining 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar and cinnamon in pie dish to blend. Set cinnamon sugar aside.

Working with half of chilled dough, roll dough by 2 teaspoonful between palms into balls. Arrange balls on heavy large baking sheet, spacing 1/2 inch apart. Bake cookies until golden brown on bottom and just pale golden on top, about 18 minutes. Cool cookies 5 minutes on baking sheet. Gently toss warm cookies in cinnamon sugar to coat completely. Transfer coated cookies to rack and cool completely. Repeat procedure with remaining half of dough. (Cookies can be prepared 2 days ahead. Store airtight at room temperature; reserve remaining cinnamon sugar.)

have a bowl ready with remaining cinnamon sugar and add your cookies into the bowl to cover them with the powder sugar, remove and serve.

A little gift

Claudia_Rosa_Box_1

Hello ladies,

today I want to share a little box I have made to give to my friend Christina to her recent birthday. I thought I could hold off showing you the set maybe in Spring, simply because the image does not match the season but I seam to struggle with my crafting time. Besides making things for the Valentines Magnolia ink issue, forth coming blog hops and samples for CHA (which I cant show right now on my blog) I noticed that my older son, needs more help with school work and that takes a big portion of my day.

Claudia_Rosa_Box_2

I would have loved to make the box in more fall colors but I had my mind set on this really sturdy box I have found at Penzy’s, it had the perfect size to host a Pandora bracelet box Smile. Unfortunately the sell only the yellow box separate, the other colors I needed to purchase as a set with 4 spice jars. So my choice was either to paint the entire box white or find some matching papers to cover the sides. Luckily I had some of those very cute Magnolia papers (yellow quilt and rainbow paper) and they matched perfectly. Besides.. I think this box can stay out all year long.

Claudia_Rosa_Box_4

Here are some of the supplies I used
Stamps: Magnolia Tilda with kite
Papers: Magnolia yellow quilt, Magnolia over the Rainbow
Dies: Magnolia simple tag die, Magnolia border die, Cheery Lynn die
Bakers twine, Stickles, flowers, Tacky glue

A batch of easy Christmas “Thank you” notes

Hi there, I have had one of these weeks where I did want to craft but hardly found the time to do so.
So today I would like to show you a few simple cards I have made using Magnolia Mini stamps.

All card bases came from Michaels $1 Dollar bin and were on sale 50 percent off so I got by example the pack of 6 cards you see on the first photo (with gold embossed frame and “Thank you” really inexpensive.Claudia_Rosa_Mini_Thank you_3

I did keep the set of blue cards on purpose rather simple and flat, because they went into my personal mail and the first card went as sample to Sir Stampalot. Did you know that Janice and Andy have a selection of Magnolia Mini stamps? It is just hard to locate them on the web page. Please click on the link and it will get you right there.
As you can tell.. this week was really busy, I did not even bother to carry the 3 cards into my photo tent. I took the photo of the cards in front of my stamp storage. All my stamps are stored by collection in a plastic clam shell container, they can be easily labeled with a Dymo writer if you need or just leave it. They are my best investment for small craft areas. You can stack them really neatly on top of each other or sideways, you can see what you have in them and just pull it out. They do NOT open! I have everything sorted in them… from flowers by color, brads, bling stickers, lace , buttons and so on you name it. While I was in England this year I noticed in the shop that Sir Stampalot does carry them. If you like to have a look, hey are available 3 different sizes, thin, medium thick and the largest, like you see on in my photo.

I almost want to apologize for my rather basic cards I show you today Smile but I do need them often for my personal use and I do not always post them on my blog because I feel like that’s not what you guys really want to see Smile

Yesterday was one of those cold but sunny days and I had gorgeous light in the house, so I thought I give it a shot and take the pictures without the photo tent. (especially after those dark photos from the other day) I have to say I am quite pleased how they turned out.

Friends are the best gifts at Christmas

Claudia_Rosa_December_2

Hello, today I would like to share with you an other little thing I have made for Sir Stampalot’s open house day.|
I thought that a little calendar sheet would not only be nice to look at but also useful for the month of December.

My photos aren’t really great.. I had to rush and take all photos to get the parcel posted and that day it was really dark outside. I do use daylight lamps from the front but behind the tent is a window and I love the light it gives when it is a clear day.

Tilda’s Towel–IT’S BAKING TIME

Hello friends…

how was your Halloween yesterday?
OMG.. I was so late with the treats I decorated for the boys… I disguised 40 Hershey chocolate bars as mummies Smile it was a lot of work and I was running late with all the wrapping. That being said.. I had planned to post a photo of those yesterday but I completely forgot to even take a photo of the lot.
Teachers told me that they were a hit and one teacher wants to make them herself next year YEAH!!! Things like that makes my day Smile

Claudia_Rosa_Tildas Towel_2

Anyways.. today I would like to show you the kitchen towel I have made for Sir STAMPALOTS event last Saturday and I got notice from Janice that all my things made it in time to England, so I know some of you have seen them already in the shop.

Things like the towels are such nice gift ideas and quickly made. You could make a towel like that and use the cloth as wrapping for some homemade goodies.. tie it on the top with a bow, add a nice tag – DONE.

Coloring takes a bit of practice. The Copics run like crazy on the fabric. You got to be very quick and do not add the tip of the pen too close to the stamped outline. If you use VersaCraft inkpad the towel is completely usable and you can wash the towel.

Claudia_Rosa_Chinese Tilda__1_750

"I'm so excited to have this card in the book published. It is called Japanese Thank you. Unfortunately I was not able to submit to the next Coloring book because we have had the water damage in our house just around the time we could submit cards for the magazine.

My card layout is very simple and clean. You can find instructions and of course the numbers of Copics I have used in the new book. The image and Design paper I used is by Magnolia and can be found at Sir Stampalot. Remember Sir Stampalot also has the brand new limited Edition Copics for sale now.

Demo Day

Hello ladies, if you are in the UK … are you going to be able to go Sir Stampalot’s Demo day on Saturday 27th October?
I did make this week a few things to sent off to Janice, hopefully she and the ones of you who are lucky enough to go to the shop will like them.
I found this cute little wooden easel just before I went to Germany at Michaels at the $1 bin. I always keep an eye out for things like that because Magnolia Ink is always something that I have in mind. Its usually more stressful to find something to make last minute. So I have a little stash of 3D items at home I can alter if an idea or occasion comes up. Speaking of Magnolia Ink, on the book Tilda is holding I wrote Magnolia Guide… the second I finished writing the word “Guide” I thought.. why did I not write INK on it???? Awwwrgggghhh!!!

Claudia_Rosa_Demo_Day_1

To make such a little project … of course there are not many supplies needed

Stamps: Editor Tilda
Dies: Set of 3 dies Magnolia Doo-hickey
Embellishments: charms, pearl stickers, paper flowers, Stickles, Super Tacky Glue, Foam Spacers, Bakers Twine – Ribbon is from stash Stampin up pink Taffeta

My “other” tick :-)

well… some of you may have noticed, that I became maybe a little “obsessed” with Pandora jewelry.
I think I even dream of Pandora bracelets, necklaces and beads lol
Its all so pretty and I think what really got to me, was the fact that their product gives me the opportunity to be creative in my own ways. I love how I can chance my bracelets themes or colors depending what I wear. Every piece can be so unique.

Claudia_Rosa_Pandora_Box_1

Anyhow.. so every time you go to the shop and you purchase like 2 beads, they would give them to me in such a pretty jewelry box. They are way to cute to just let them sit in a drawer. I know that I am going to give “some sweet friends” not saying aaaany names here Smile Pandora as gifts for Christmas. I did alter already 6 boxes, 3 small ones (pictured)e and the large ones (bracelet boxes) those are already sent of – I needed gifts and totally forgot to take a photo of those.

Claudia_Rosa_Pandora_Box_2

I think I am showing those little boxes because you can decorate even little boxes made from paper – I think there is a easy tutorial on Papertrey ink how to fold, and just a few DooHickey dies the boxes in some adorable gifts. I am sure your friends or family will like them and best of all, if you have the box, the decoration is really quick and easy!

Tip: If you use tuelle in stead of ribbon, you can easily slide your entire band on and off your box because the tuelle is so stretchy. I took mine on and off all the time to make sure I am not gluing any embellishments onto the box and the band slid snug over the box every time.

Claudia_Rosa_Pandora_Box_3

Let me tell you what I have used in case you can not recognize them on the photos

Boxes are as mentioned hard flip lid boxes by Pandora
DooHickey Dies: tree, heart and star, snowflake
Flowers and feather – Dollar castle
Bakers twine, hemp, glass glitter, stickles, gems, tuelle in pink and blue, slilver bead ribbon (Michaels),
